FrontLine Ministries recently announced the opening of The Hope Center in Bellwood.
Located at 421 Main Street, The Hope Center will serve as a resource center for community members in Bellwood Borough and Antis Township.
According to information provided by George Palmer of FrontLine Ministries, the primary purpose of the center is to provide care for individuals and families in need. The Center will also provide a location where people can gather for worship, fellowship and spiritual enrichment.
The Hope Center will also work with Angel Food Ministries to provide food for community members with needs. Similar programs will also be developed for clothing and household items.
This Saturday, volunteers will meet to help clean the building where the new center will be located. They will also be moving stored items and rearranging furniture.
There is a need for volunteers to help with this process. Interested individuals should bring household cleaning supplies and equipment.
Individuals to help move furniture and heavy objects are also needed.
The first event to take place in The Hope Center will be Rick Warren’s 40 Days of Community. This study encourages participants to do life together in a sense of Christian community.
There are daily designated readings which coincide with a video that will be reviewed weekly during discussion meetings.
Forty Days of Community will begin September 17 and end October 22.
Every registered attendee will receive Rick Warren’s book and a workbook for the study. There is a $12 charge to cover the cost of the books.
Then, beginning the last Saturday in September there will be a fellowship time for men each Saturday morning at 7 a.m. Plans include a time of worship, prayer and sharing.
Future plans include the creation of a coffee house type setting for young adults who have graduated from high school.
The Hope Center is also in need of financial support to help purchase items needed for renovations. According to Palmer, the hope is to raise $5,000 in the next few weeks to get things started.
Anyone wishing to make a donation can make checks payable to FrontLine Ministries and designate them for The Hope Center.
Also, anyone wishing to help out with preparation or who would like to participate in any of the programs, contact Palmer at 684-1515 or Rick Beatty, Hope Center Director at 742-8471 or rick.beatty@verizon.net.
