An Altoona pedestrian was injured in a hit and run accident yesterday at 10:15 p.m. on old 6th Avenue Road in Antis Township.
State police said Gabriel Recchia was walking on the road when a southbound vehicle struck him from behind. The vehicle then fled the scene. Recchia was taken to the Altoona Regional Health System Trauma Center for treatment.
Police are continuing their investigation.
