Country recording artist Mark Wills will perform two concerts at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.
On Sunday, August 6, Wills will perform at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Wills found both personal and professional success in Georgia\\\'s capital city. He met his wife Kelly there. They married in 1996, the same year “Jacob\\\'s Ladder” jump-started his country career on Mercury Records. That single was followed by a string of Top 10 smashes: “Places I\\\'ve Never Been” (1997), “I Do (Cherish You)” (1998), “Don\\\'t Laugh at Me” (1998), “Wish You Were Here” (1999), “She\\\'s in Love” (1999) and “Back at One” (2000).
With its heartfelt message of tolerance and charity, “Don\\\'t Laugh at Me” garnered nominations from the Country Music Association for single, song and video of the year in 1998.
In 2001, Wills released his fourth CD, Loving Every Minute, which included a duet with labelmate Jamie O\\\'Neal. His Greatest Hits followed in 2002, featuring the huge radio hit “19 Somethin\\\'.”
He released the album And the Crowd Goes Wild in 2003.
Wills credits his daughter Mally for bringing a deeper joy and depth to the words of the songs he sings as an artist.
DelGrosso’s Amusement Park is excited to welcome Wills to the stage this weekend.
Other country concerts held at the park included American Idol contestant Josh Gracin, along with Jimmy Wayne and Blake Shelton. Earlier this summer, Billy Dean performed for a large crowd of country music fans.
Another large crowd is expected for Wills’ concert.
Sponsors for this year’s concert series include Froggy 98; WALY 103.9; Ansley RV; Surplus City; Boyer Refrigeration; The Altoona Mirror; Century 21; Strayer and Associates and Giant Eagle Altoona, Roaring Spring and Ebensburg. It’s the support from these local businesses that make DelGrosso’s summer concerts available for the public.
Admission to the concert and parking are free to the public. Individuals are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and settle in for an exciting afternoon and evening of entertainment.
Other events planned for this summer include the March of Dimes Rubber Duck Regatta on August 13, free Christian concerts with Big Daddy Weave and Frontline Ministries Last Blast on September 3.
