The 22nd Annual Softball Marathon to benefit Easter Seals Central Pennsylvania will kick off Friday, August 11 through Sunday, August 13. Softball Marathon is a team building experience, which allows co-workers, family and friends to join together for a great cause.
The activities of this popular Easter Seals event are designed to not only generate a sense of “unity” but also create a time for co-workers and friends to come together in a non-competitive softball game in the spirit of Easter Seals. Teams of 12-20 players may register to participate in the divisions of co-ed, male or female. Team registration fee is $450 to play a 3-hour softball game to benefit the local children and adults of Easter Seals.
Each team will receive a case of Roaring Spring bottled water, a case of Coors Light and an official Softball Marathon T-shirt! Top fundraisers have a chance to win Penn State football tickets, Pittsburgh Pirate tickets, Johnstown Chiefs tickets, Delgrosso Amusement Park passes, restaurant gift certificates and much more.
The Softball Marathon pairings party will be held on Tuesday, August 8, at the Four Dee’s Lounge where teams will have an opportunity to meet and turn in their registration fees. The Softball Marathon awards party will be held on Wednesday, August 16, at Pellegrine’s Lounge to award trophies and top fund raising prize packages.
Funds raised will allow Easter Seals to fulfill their mission to make critical services available to children and adults with disabilities and special needs. Our success will mean that no individual or family will be denied services due to an inability to pay. Ninety-Nine percent of all funds raised stays in Central Pennsylvania for services such as speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy and early intervention. Easter Seals programs are community-based and community-driven. With the aid of special events like Softball Marathon, more children and adults with disabilities will benefit from services and programs that are crucial to achieving a life of independence and equality.
