A 29-year-old Altoona woman was charged with theft after an incident at the Bellwood Sheetz on Route 865 in Antis Township on July 6 between 10:40 and 11:01 p.m.
State police said Amie Jo Ringler allegedly stole $60 from a cash register while she was working at the store. Charges were filed with Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller on July 11.

Two Altoona residents were involved in a two-vehicle accident on State Route 4019 in Antis Township last Friday at 1:05 p.m.
Police said Heather Roland was driving north on 4019 when Timothy Porta was pulling out of a private parking lot and failed to see Roland’s vehicle. The two vehicles then collided. All parties were wearing seat belts according to the investigating officer.

An Altoona driver, Royal Flurry, was involved in a one-vehicle accident on Tipton Mountain Road in Antis Township on Monday at 3:40 p.m.
Flurry was driving south on the road and was going too fast to negotiate a curve. The vehicle struck a guide rail and went over it and then down an embankment, rolling onto its roof.
A passenger in the vehicle, Terry Driggers, was taken to the hospital for injuries. Neither Flurry or Driggers were wearing seat belts.

A 40-year-old Altoona man was identified as the driver in a hit-and-run incident on Tipton Mountain Road near the Tipton Fire Hall in Antis Township on Monday at 4:20 p.m.
Police said Brien Haun was traveling south on the road and lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole, which caused a power outage in the Tipton area.
The vehicle rolled onto its side and Haun fled the scene. He was later identified and will be charged with numerous violations including driving under suspension and hit and run.

State police are investigating an incident where someone scattered rubbish on private property on Lower Riggles Gap Road in Antis Township sometime between Monday and Tuesday.
Police said a known, but unidentified suspect dumped a pile of garbage on the property of Ruth N. Long. The investigation was continuing as of this morning’s press release.
