The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society will benefit from a planned preview opening of the new Boscov’s department store location in Logan Town Center (I-99 at 17th street, Altoona) next month.
CPHS is selling special tickets to the event that features free gifts, entertainment and refreshments.
For $5 shoppers can purchase a special ticket that will allow them a “sneak peek” at the 11,000 square foot retailer on Friday, August 11. Money from sale of the tickets goes directly to a number of area non-profit organizations such as the Humane Society. CPHS now has tickets to the event on sale at the shelter location (1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd.) or the Thrift Shop (220 E. Walton Ave.).
The special event kicks off at 10 a.m. and customers can also buy admittance tickets at the door and designate CPHS as their “sponsor” (and the shelter will receive credit for the ticket purchase).
There’s no limit to the number of tickets purchased. CPHS is urging interested shoppers to take their friends and family to the event by purchasing tickets at the shelter early. Boscov’s will be donating an additional $1,500 to the agency that sells the most tickets.
“This is a great opportunity for people to help our animals and be among the first to check out a first-class department store, get a nice free gift and be entertained all at the same time,” said Dave Hopkins, CPHS Director of Fundraising/Public Relations.
