A 21-year-old Tyrone man, Andrew James Golden, was arrested on forgery and theft from a vehicle charges after an incident last month in Birmingham, Huntingdon County.
Police said Golden used a piece of concrete to smash a rear door window out of a car belonging to a Tyrone woman on May 9 at 10:30 a.m. Golden then allegedly took a checkbook and other items from a purse on the floor.
Police said Golden wrote out a check to himself from the checkbook and forged the victim’s signature and then cashed the check. A truck belonging to a Hollidaysburg man was dented on the driver’s side door and bed during the theft.
Police said Golden was arrested based on information received from the Tyrone branch of M & T Bank. Golden was placed in the Huntingdon County Jail in lieu of $10,000 straight bond.

A rural Tyrone man, 29-year-old Mark Ernest Campbell, was charged with harassment after an incident in Ironville on May 31 at 6:15 p.m.
Police said Campbell struck and punched another man from RD 1, Tyrone during an argument regarding an ex-girlfriend. Charges were filed against Campbell at Magisterial District Judge Fred Miller’s office.

An unknown person took items from a residential driveway in Snyder Township sometime between 7:30 a.m. on June 1 and 9 a.m. on June 2.
Police said two plastic flowerpots with fake nylon flowers valued at $10 were taken from the driveway located along state route 350, north of Bald Eagle.
