This Saturday DelGrosso’s Amusement Park will host a special visitor as they help celebrate WPSU-TV Kids’ Day at the park.
This fun-filled extravaganza for families begins at 11 a.m. with an exciting stage show featuring special guest star, Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Kids will have the chance to make their very own floppy Clifford ears at the WPSU tent.
Live performances are scheduled for Clifford at the park’s outdoor stage at 1, 3 and 5 p.m. Immediately following each performance, children are invited to meet with Clifford.
According to a press release from Penn State, “Each summer, WPSU-TV and DelGrosso’s Amusement Park partner to create a fantastic day of family fun for the WPSU community. An ideal summertime activity, the park includes activities for children, more than 30 amusement park rides, an extensive water park, go-karts, a beautiful miniature golf course and delicious amusement park food.”
Penn State Public Broadcasting, the parent organization of WPSU-TV and WPSU-FM, is committed to providing educational and entertaining community outreach events for all of the station’s 29 county viewing area. Through participation in events like the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, the DuBois Courier Express Homemakers Show and many others, Penn State Public Broadcasting is having a positive impact on the communities it serves. WPSU-TV broadcasts over 50 hours a week of educational, commercial-free, children’s programming families can trust.
Other upcoming events at the park include Classic Rock All-Stars free oldies concerts at 3 and 7 p.m. this Sunday. There will also be a Blair County antique auto show.
As usual, many individuals and families will visit the park on July 4 for the annual Summer Thunder event.
Also, July 15 and 16 the Native American Pow Wow returns. Visitors to the park will see Native American dancing and have the opportunity to shop at the many booths set up featuring jewelry, woodworking, leather and much more.
There are also several specials at the park throughout the summer. Don’t forget each Wednesday is Spaghetti Wednesday, through August 23. Stop by for lunch or dinner and choose between spaghetti with DelGrosso’s Italian style meatballs or the featured pasta of the week. Weekly pasta features include linguine, homemade lasagna, rigatoni, stuffed shells, fettuccini alfredo and much more. Cost for adults is $5.95 and for children is $4.50. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and dinner is served from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A free Pepsi fountain drink and refill is included with all dinners.
Every Monday golf and go-karts are half price through August 21. Plus, everything at Austin’s Texas Hot Dogs is 10 percent off. Mondays are an excellent day to stop by for a bite to eat and a round of golf or a race around the track.
