Digging Deep Youth Ministries will be rockin’ the mountains at Quest Haven Lodge with their summer kick-off for teens and the young at heart.
As school closes, the music will begin. The Battle of the Bands will start off the summer with great music, fun, fellowship and food vendors. Digging Deep Youth Ministry will be hosting the Battle of the Bands at Quest Haven Lodge tomorrow from 3 to 11 p.m. Bands from across the state of Pennsylvania will be performing and have been selling advance tickets to help reach a goal of 1,000 audience members.
My Book Your Sandwich will be the headline band for the evening. MBYS has been praising Jesus and rocking faces since 2001. With their blend of rock fused with elements of jazz and folk, this five piece ensemble is quickly becoming one of Pennsylvania\’s top acts- sharing the stage with acclaimed bands Skillet, Bleach, Seventh Day Slumber, and the Apologetix. The MBYS vision is to share the faith in a fun, exciting way- reaching out with incendiary musicianship and lyrics that all can relate to. If you\’re looking for a new brand of faith-based rock, MBYS has some food for thought. Secular and Christian bands will be competing in the competition including: Drop Out High, Ember, The Production, Lampshades, Push Comes To Shove, Horse Drawn Death Carriage and Four Days Dirty.
Quest Haven Lodge, home of Truth Quest Ministries, provides youth activities and events year-round for youth in the Tyrone and surrounding areas. Digging Deep, a weekly teen ministry outreach program meets weekly from 6 to 8:30 on Sunday evenings for a time of fun, fellowship, music, devotional lessons and recreational activities. Their goal is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Praise Rallies, camps, retreats, and outreach activities and events are just a few of the ways DD outreaches. Recent outreach activities have been a wing night, a paintball tournament and a praise rally in Osceola Mills.
The Battle of the Bands is the next event, followed by Teen Camp, Outdoorsman’s Camp and Kid’s Camp, a trip to King’s Dominion for King’s Fest, plus much more. Truth Quest Camps provide a week in a dynamic Christian community that challenges campers to grow both spiritually and personally. An action packed age appropriate week of adventures, awesome speakers and praise and worship bands. Campers will be challenged to dig deeper in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
