Thursday, June 8 is Senior Citizen Day at Reservoir Park.
Beginning at 10 a.m., seniors from the Tyrone area, along with their family or friends who wish to come along, are invited to take “A Stroll in the Park”.
Some may wish to relax around pavilion No. 1 or for those who are walkers, there is lots of space to get some exercise. It is a come and go as you please informal affair with special gifts for seniors and a drawing for many prizes.
Entertainment will be provided by Kip Woodring on the guitar. A free lunch will be served courtesy of Pete and Judy Getz.
This time has been set aside for seniors to get together and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the park, which is the finest a community could wish for. Most of the seniors in this area have enjoyed Reservoir Park in the past and it would be nice to bring them together again and see what a good job the borough and volunteers have done to keep the park in such great shape.
Last year’s “Stroll in the Park” was declared by Mayor Stoner to be Senior Citizens Day in Tyrone and the event was a spectacular success.
This year, with all the added prizes and refreshments, it will be even more enjoyable!
Blair Senior Services will provide transportation to and from Reservoir Park for a small fee. Please call 695-3500 to make reservations.
