An attempted robbery in Bellwood on Thursday is being highlighted as “the crime of the week” by Crime Solvers of Blair County.
Bellwood Police are investigating a reported attempted robbery of drugs. On Thursday about 2:30 p.m., it was reported a man entered Kopp Drugs in Bellwood and presented what was believed to be a prescription order.
The employee read the slip that stated “give me all the Oxycontin and nothing will happen”. The employee showed the slip to the manager, who then called 911. The man fled the store without the drugs.
The suspect is described as a white man between 18 and 25 years-old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and clean cut. He was wearing a blue ball cap, dark clothing and had no facial hair.
Bellwood Police are working on a composite sketch of the suspect. No weapon was displayed during the incident. A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information in the case.
