A Duncansville man was involved in a DUI-related crash on Lower Riggles Gap Road in Antis Township on April 14 at 2:55 a.m.
State Police said 26-year-old Jeremy Gregg Boland was traveling south on the road. He said he swerved to avoid a deer. His car traveled across the oncoming lane and then into a ditch along the eastern edge of the road. The car hit an embankment, which caused it to pivot and flip end-over-end, coming to a final rest on its left side.
Boland was able to exit the vehicle and was transported by ambulance to the Altoona Regional Medical System Trauma Center for evaluation.
Police said the nature of the crash and Boland’s physical condition prompted a DUI investigation. Subsequent laboratory analysis of Boland’s blood alcohol content revealed he was under the influence at the time of the crash.
