Harry E. Finley, 94, died April 3, 2006 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born January 22, 1912 in Tarentum, the son of Harry and Mary (Rosenchek) Finley.
He was preceded in death by parents and his wife Mary (Engelman) Finley.
Mr. Finley is survived by children: David E. m/t Carol (Seymour), Springdale; Christine E. Stamm, Westminster, MD; Heidi E. m/t Philip Klim, Harrisonburg, VA; Mark J. m/t Christine (O’Donnell), Baltimore, MD; John M. m/t Jane (Chumley), Fredericksburg, VA; Amy M. m/t Gene Gold, Haddonfield, NJ; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was active in many community and civic organizations: secretary and treasurer for the Johnstown Lions Club, managing director for Johnstown Convention and Visitors Bureau, Johnstown Community Chest, President Cambria County Heart Association, Secretary PA Heart Association, former newspaper columnist for the Johnstown Observer and he hosted several radio talk shows for WARD.
He was a choir member and Lector of our Mother of Sorrows Church where Funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Saturday with Very Rev. Paul E. Turnbull, V.F.
Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Committal at Oak Grove Cemetery, Tyrone.
In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions to Our Mother of Sorrows School, in his memory.
