Greg Murray, RN has been appointed coordinator of staff education at Tyrone Hospital.
Murray, who currently also works as an operating room nurse, will split his time between the OR and education. Murray, who is certified as a life support educator for the American Heart Association, has provided life support education at Tyrone Hospital for more than 15 years.
Murray is a graduate of the Mt. Aloysius College nursing program. He has been employed at Tyrone Hospital for over 21 years. During his years of employment, he has worked in all nursing departments except for obstetrics. He also works as a paramedic for AMED during his off-hours. In addition, he is the supervisor of the first-aide station at DelGrosso Amusement Park.
Murray is a member of Tyrone Hospital’s Board of Directors and the Safety Committee. He also serves on the Vocational Advisory Committee at the Tyrone Area High School.
As education coordinator, Murray will continue to provide life support education, including pediatric, adult and advanced life support. He will also conduct clinical orientation for new nursing hires, and either conduct or coordinate continuing education for nursing and other hospital staff.
