Philipsburg-based state police are investigating a financial fraud incident that victimized a 49-year-old Warriors Mark (Halfmoon Township, Centre County) woman between Feb. 13 and 16.
Someone used the victim’s ATM card and withdrew more than $2,000 from her checking account. Information obtained by the victim revealed the withdrawals occurred overseas. Police are continuing their investigation.

A tri-axle Mack truck was involved in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 453 approximately a half a mile south of State Route 350 in Snyder Township on Feb. 17 at 5 a.m.
The truck was being driven by Fred Bousum III of Alexandria when it crested a hill and failed to negotiate a left turn in the road. The truck traveled off the road and onto the east berm where it then struck a rock embankment.
Bousum was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. His truck had moderate damage.

A 22-year-old Tyrone woman was involved in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 350 in Taylor Township, Centre County on Feb. 18 at 4:30 p.m.
Gretchen Marie Illig’s vehicle was rounding a left curve when a vehicle coming in the opposite direction came close to the center yellow line. Illig steered to the left and her vehicle started to slide on the gravel. The vehicle crossed the road and then went up an embankment and struck a tree.
Illig was wearing a seat belt and suffered a minor injury. Her vehicle had moderate damage.

A theft at an I-99 construction site in Snyder Township is being investigated by state police.
The incident happened sometime between 9 p.m. on Feb. 19 and 9 a.m. on Feb. 21 at the site when a 1,000-gallon water tank and a Honda pump were stolen. The victim in the crime was listed as A & L Inc. of Belle Vernon.
