Sidney Thomas “Sid” Patterson, 71, of RR 2, Box 16D, Tyrone, died Thursday evening, Feb. 16, 2006 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
He was born Oct. 22, 1934 in Tyrone, a son of Mordicia and Alma (Murtiff) Patterson.
He was first married to Jean Amick of Altoona. Then to Shirley Moslak, who died March 8, 2002.
He is survived by a son Thomas Patterson of Altoona; a daughter Janelle Patterson and son Eric Patterson of Tyrone RR 2; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; two sisters: Edith Woomer of Tyrone and Ruth Wilson of Tonawanda, NY and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters Mary Shimp, Esther Hand, Elizabeth Potter, Hazel Mountz, Betty Miller, Ethel Kirkpatrick, Dorothy Reese and a brother Robert E. Patterson.
He had served in the Naval Reserve and was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook & Ladder Fire Co.
He had been employed at the Tyrone Alcoa Plant, Chicago Rivet Co., Hinkle & McCoy for 10 years and last as a steward at the Hookies Firemans Club.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 20, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone.
Interment will be at the St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Hawks Run, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
