Janet L. Valentine, 84, passed away December 31, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Valentine was born in Tyrone and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1957. She had worked as an RN at Akron General Medical Center and later in private practice with Dr. William Onest. She had attended the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, loved to sew and had enjoyed traveling with her husband.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jack and sister, Margie Rozick, she is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Phyllis Hoover of Tyrone; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Patti of Cuyahoga Falls and Larry and JoAnna of York; grandchildren, Jon, Heather (fiancee Steve Bates), Michael (Michele), Daniel and Robert; great-granddaughter, Maria Dee Valentine and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be conducted at noon Saturday, January 7, 2006 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, Rev. Susan Lausch officiating.
Final resting place Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. The family requests memorials be made to VNS Hospice Development Fund, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333-6118.
