To kick off the holiday season, Tyrone’s own Will Jones will play the lead role of Scrooge in A Christmas Caroled at the historic Mishler Theatre.
A Christmas Caroled is a play and original score that Jones wrote in 1996 based on the Charles Dickens’ classic.
This show at the Mishler follows Jones’ portrayal of Professor Harold Hill in the Cresson Lake Playhouse’s summer production of The Music Man.
In 1999, A Christmas Caroled was performed by the Tyrone Community Players, and in 2000 the Players performed a concert version of the production.
There are 40 people in the cast, some from Tyrone and Bellwood. The director is Oscar Stuckey, the choreographer is Alicia Lombardo-Jordan, and Terry Turner from Tyrone is the musical director.
Dates and times for the show include Friday, November 25 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 26 at 2 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. Adult tickets are $14, senior tickets are $12 and children tickets are $8. Call the Mishler box office at 944-9434 for ticket reservations.
M & T Bank, the Altoona Mirror, and Forever Broadcasting, in association with P & J Productions, are proud to present A Christmas Caroled, with proceeds from the show to benefit military mothers of the area and the Christmas Carol program.
