The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce, the Tyrone Merchants Association, the Tyrone Community Partnership and the Tyrone Arts Council are pleased to announce the second annual Tyrone Victorian Christmas Celebration, December 1-3 in downtown Tyrone.
Once again, there will be children’s games and activities throughout the day on December 3. However, this year there’s a twist.
Although the children’s activities remain free of charge this year, kids will be asked to present tickets in order to participate.
The activities will once again be held at the Armory from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will be asked to visit local merchants to collect game and activity tickets. Collecting the tickets provides a scavenger hunt type activity for the kids and gets them tickets to participate in the other events at the armory.
Participants can visit the Bullpen, Monika’s Cards and Gifts and Sam’s Pet Shop to collect a ticket for stocking making. The Doghouse and Rick Day Construction are passing out tickets for the Velcro dart game.
Tickets for the lollipop tree will be available at Gardner’s Candies and Burley’s Restaurant.
The G&P Dollar Stretcher and Scents of Life will have tickets for the M&M Candy Jar.
To participate in the duck pond, children are asked to visit Joybeans or the Tyrone Radio Shack.
Ornament making tickets will be available at Patrice’s Boutique, Curves and The Beauty Shop, while JC’s Barber Shoppe and Scott Cowfer’s Contracting will have sand bag toss tickets.
Kids will have the opportunity to make a king’s crown after picking up a ticket at Rhonda’s Retreat, Cowfer’s Custom Design or OIP.
Finally, ring toss tickets will be available from McKinley’s Furniture and Silverscreen Video.
Once the children have collected their tickets, they will be asked to present them at the Armory to participate in the activities. Collect all the tickets for a fun-filled day or the kids can choose to collect a few and participate in their favorite activities.
There will also be a face painting booth located at the Armory and time to visit with Santa.
Also back again this year will be carriage rides, starting at the rail park. The carriage rides are provided by Diamond Lane Carriage Rides of Roaring Spring and are sponsored by Reliance Bank. Tickets will be available by presale only and are $5. The carriage rides will begin at 11 a.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m.
The Tyrone Victorian Christmas Celebration Committee is made up of Rose Black, Ray Liddick, Jen Liddick, Scott Collinash, Rhonda Whelan, Laurie Cowfer and Victoria Isenberg.
