Tyrone Police Chief Joseph Beachem told The Daily Herald his department is investigating two retail theft incidents at the downtown Tyrone Radio Shack.
Chief Beachem said the first incident happened on Oct. 10 and the other on Oct. 14. Both were similar in nature.
He said two males between the ages of 18 to 20 entered the store on Oct. 10. While one of the men distracted a store clerk, the other took a scanner valued at $200. Both men then left the store.
Later that same week, on Friday, two men entered the store and once again while one man distracted the clerk, the other took a portable DVD player valued at $299.99.
Beachem said the same clerk was the victim in both cases. He said police have a suspect. He could not confirm if the same people were involved in both incidents, but he did not rule it out.
Beachem said police had not recovered the stolen items as of Thursday afternoon. Their investigation is ongoing.
