State police have released information about a bad check incident in Port Matilda in June.
A 30-year-old Tyrone man, Jason W. Gummo, was charged with passing a bad check after an incident at Lykens Market on Plank Road in Port Matilda. A check in the amount of $32.32 failed to clear the bank, according to Philipsburg state police.

A Tyrone-based company was the victim of theft at an I-99 construction site along State Route 220, just south of Port Matilda between Oct. 7 and Oct. 10.
Police said someone entered the site and removed two oxygen tanks valued at approximately $500. The tanks belonged to A & L Inc. Philipsburg-based state police said the tanks are used in conjunction with acetylene for cutting steel.
Authorities said they are continuing their investigation and are seeking the public’s help to solve the crime.

Several people escaped injury after a two-vehicle accident on Oct. 8 at 11:34 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 4019 and Sandbank Road in Antis Township.
A vehicle operated by Leroy Cox of Johnstown was southbound on the road and rounded a curve. His vehicle slid on the wet road and hit a vehicle operated by Joann Gortney of State College. Gortney was traveling north on the road.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not hurt. Three passengers in Cox’s vehicle also were wearing their seat belts and escaped injury.
Cox’s vehicle had moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene. Gortney’s vehicle also had moderate damage, but was able to be driven from the scene.

Huntingdon-based state police investigated a one-vehicle accident on State Route 350 in Warriors Mark Township near the Blair County line on Oct. 12.
Police said 20-year-old Nicholas Stibitz of Port Matilda was traveling north on the road when a deer came into his lane of travel. Stibitz attempted to avoid the deer. However, he lost control of his vehicle and the back end of it began to slide. As it was sliding, Stibitz attempted to counter-steer, but the vehicle’s front end impacted with a berm on the side of the road and it rolled onto its roof.
Stibitz was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. Stibitz was cited for not keeping his vehicle within its lane of travel.

The Warriors Mark Uni-Mart was the scene of a pump-and-run incident on Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Someone drove off without paying after pumping $20 worth of gas. Police said the driver was operating a white Chevy Lumina and fled on Route 350 North. Anyone with information on the incident should contact Huntingdon state police at 814-627-3161.
