A rural Tyrone woman was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Sept. 25 after an incident at 1:20 a.m. at the intersection of Juniata Gap Road and 25th Avenue in Altoona.
Twenty-four-year-old Elisha Danielle McDonald, RR 5, Tyrone was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence after failing to stop for a red traffic light.

A church in the Bellwood area was the scene of burglary sometime between noon on Sept. 25 and 1:25 p.m. on Sept. 26.
State police reported someone entered the Bellwood Church of the Brethren at the intersection of North Tuckahoe and 12th Street.
Authorities said damage was caused to the inside of the church.

Reese’s Saw Mill on Old Bald Eagle Pike in Taylor Township, Centre County was the scene of a theft on Sept. 25.
Two individuals were seen stealing scrap metal at the mill on two separate occasions. Police said the suspects were known in the case and the planned to make arrests.
The items were valued at about $1,500.

A one-vehicle accident caused injury to a 53-year-old Altoona man on State Route 4019 in Antis Township on Sept. 26 at 5:35 p.m.
Police said Mark J. Cassidy was driving south on the road when he attempted to negotiate a right curve and lost control of his vehicle. His car traveled off the east berm and rolled over onto its roof.
Cassidy was wearing a seat belt and suffered a minor injury. His car had severe damage.

A 49-year-old Sandy Ridge woman suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 350 near Bald Eagle Sportsman Road in Snyder Township.
The accident happened at 7:45 a.m. when Emma L. Ridder was traveling north on the road and lost control on the wet roadway. Her vehicle slid off the road and into a ditch. Ridder’s vehicle traveled for approximately 200 feet along the ditch then overturned onto its right side when it struck a large rock.

A 30-year-old Tyrone woman suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Antis Township on Sept. 29 at 8:38 a.m.
A vehicle driven by 40-year-old Joann Stulz of Altoona was headed north on State Route 4019 when a vehicle driven by Charity Goddard came to a stop at a stop sign at the State Route 4018/19 intersection. Goddard turned her vehicle left into the intersection and Stulz’s vehicle struck the left side of Goddard’s vehicle.

A Tyrone man, 43-year-old George P. Kaup, escaped injury in a two-vehicle accident near Port Matilda Borough on Sept. 29 at 5:15 p.m.
The accident happened about 1/2-mile south of town on State Route 220 in Worth Township when a vehicle driven by a 65-year-old Connecticut man, William E. Aneshensel was traveling north on 220 and was in the process of slowing down because a construction truck was making a left turn approximately four or five vehicles in front of him.
A pick-up truck driven by Kaup approached Aneshensel’s vehicle from the rear and was not able to stop from hitting it. Kaup’s vehicle skidded approximately 65 feet prior to hitting Aneshensel’s vehicle.
Neither man was injured and both were wearing seat belts.
Kaup was cited for a summary traffic violation. Both vehicles had minor damage.
