The sixth annual Tyrone Area Business and Career Expo is scheduled for Thursday, October 20 at the Tyrone Area High School gymnasium from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce will showcase area businesses and educational institutions as well as invite area students in grades nine through 12 to attend the event. Holding the Business and Career Expo in the gymnasium enables the Chamber to have a great many more exhibitors.
The community is invited to the event at no cost.

Jerry Stern, South Hills School Of Business & Technology, Cambria-Rowe Business College, Princess House Products, Tyrone Hospital and Mount Aloysius College.
Also, Pennsylvania Highlands Community College, Allegheny Ridge Corporation, Healthsouth, Central PA Institute of Science & Technology, Penn State Altoona, Lock Haven University, Allegheny College of Maryland, Griswald Special Care, Home Helpers, Dubois Business College, Comfort Inn- Huntingdon, Pa State Police, DeVry University, PS Printing, Penn State\’s Air Force ROTC, Altoona Beauty School, Inc., and Computer Learning Network.
This month’s Business After Hours will be held in conjunction with the Business and Career Expo. The event is sponsored by the Chamber and will be held in the gymnasium and lobby area.
The Business After Hours event offers great networking opportunities and a chance to meet friends and business associates for an enjoyable evening.
Advance reservations are needed for Business After Hours.
Also, part of the proceeds from the Business and Career Expo registration will be used for the Chamber’s award program to recognize an outstanding graduating senior who is pursuing a career in business. Last year’s award of $250 went to Melissa Stager.
The Chamber is looking forward to having a strong turnout and hopes that everyone in some way can be a part of the day, either as an exhibitor, a volunteer or as a spectator.
