Everyone is invited to celebrate the 21st annual community arts and crafts day as area friends and neighbors showcase their handiwork at the Tuckahoe Street Fair slated for October 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bellwood’s Excelsior No. 1 Firehall.
The emphasis of the community fair is handmade arts and crafts and craft demonstrations.
Anniversary baskets, sweatshirts and quilts along with arts, crafts and all types of baked goods including cakes, pies, cookies and candy will be available at the fair.
Arts and crafts featured will be ceramics, wood crafts, quilts, baskets, candles, floral arrangements, painted items, dolls, needlework and machine stitched projects.
Not only will individuals be able to purchase crafts during the fair, there will also be a chance to make-your-own scarecrow.
Breakfast will be served at the fire hall. Also available will be hotdogs, hamburgers, French fries with cheese and sloppy joes.
For all the Civil War enthusiasts in the area, a Civil War encampment will be set up by the Pa. Regimental Band of Civil War Reenactors.
There will be many vendors at this year’s event.
Carol Davis will have a booth set up with children’s crafts, princess tiaras, scarves, country lights, scented pinecones and holiday stockings. Clara Davis will have crafts and sweatshirts available throughout the day.
The Bellwood-Antis Historical Society will be setting up a table to display historical materials and there will be a fly tying demonstration by Ron Berkstresser.
Connie Grannas will sell center pieces and wreaths while Susan Springer will have fleece quillows, pillow covers, wall hangings, table runners and placemats to purchase.
Sue Trittle will be selling quilts, Jo Anne Partner of Jo’s Stitch-N-Things will have cross stitch items and Marie Fleming will sell juggling sticks and crafts.
Floral items will be available from Sobeida Acevedo and Amy Chamberlan will have wood crafts, hand painted items, and sand art. She will also be face painting.
Jewelry and crocheted items will be available from Cindy and Chrissy Eicher, Patricia Kenawell will have seasonal crafts available and Mary Lou Royse will sell quilted items.
Judy Shunk’s booth will have hand-turned pottery and home decorations while Louis and Joyce Stahl will have wood crafts and floral arrangements for sale.
Linda Bower will be selling natural juice supplements throughout the day.
Nancy Beatty, Barbara Parks and Kathi Padula will have cakes, dolls, sewn items, knitted sweaters and baked goods
Along with the many crafters at the fair, there will be a variety of food and baked goods available.
Sisterhood Relay for Life will sell sauerkraut dogs, canned pop and crafts and the U.S. Armed Forces Mothers will have ham barbecue, hotdogs and sauerkraut, coffee, funnel cakes, apple dumplings and military items available.
The Pa. Regimental Band of Civil War Reenactors will be selling chicken corn soup and corn bread and the Pioneer Club of the United Methodist church will have cans of cookies available.
Sausage sandwiches and soda will be available from La Jo’s Sausage.
Patty Davis will sell haluska and baked goods and kettle corn will be sold by Joseph and Brenda Helsel.
The fair will be held rain or shine.
