Joseph M. “Merv” Lightner, 74, of Clinton, formerly of Bellwood, died Sunday, September 25, 2005 at Sewickley Valley Hospital.
He was born May 2, 1931 in Blandburg, a son of the late Joseph Rhody and Nancy E. (Van Scoyoc) Lightner.
Mr. Lightner is survived by brothers: John of York, Ray of Bellwood, Blake of Harrisburg, Earl of Camp Hill and Rhody of San Antonio, TX; a sister: Marjorie Miller of Bellwood and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers Walter and George and a sister, Elizabeth “Bid” Markley.
Mr. Lightner retired as an engineer at WQED Channel 13 radio and television station, Pittsburgh.
At the request of the deceased there will be no viewing or visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of individual choice.
