Al Godissart has joined Tyrone Hospital as director of outpatient services.
As director of outpatient services, Godissart will manage the operating room, emergency room, recovery room, short procedure unit and pain clinic.
Godisssart has more than 12 years of nursing experience and during his career he has worked in various clinical areas including the emergency room, ambulatory surgery, operating room, recovery room, pain clinic, medical surgical care, coronary care, intensive care and long term care.
Prior to joining Tyrone Hospital, Godissart was employed at the UPMC Bedford Hospital where he provided services in the outpatient procedure unit. He was also previously employed at the UPMC Lee Regional Hospital in Johnstown where he held various positions including unit director of the medical surgical unit, clinical coordinator of coronary care, and staff nurse in the cardio thoracic unit. While at UPMC Lee Regional, he was also involved in the development of the hospital\’s chest pain center. He also held the position of director of nursing of the long term care unit at Fulton County Medical Center.
Godissart has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the Mount Aloysius College in Cresson. He also has a Master of Business Administration degree from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland.
He is certified in perioperative nursing and completed the Health Care Leadership Academy at UPMC and UPMC Lee Regional. He is also listed in Manchester Who\’s Who Among Executives and Professionals in Nursing. He also serves as a member of the Southern Alleghenies Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Council Medical Reserve Corps.
Godissart\’s community activities include PIAA official for football and soccer, AYSO soccer official and coach, varsity soccer coach for the Chestnut Ridge Area School District, member of the Bedford County Players Community Theatre Group, and member of the Knights of Columbus. He also serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Bedco Credit Union.
