Recently, the Board of the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library invited library staff and volunteers to a dessert buffet in recognition of their devotion to the library.
Board president Susan Hunter welcomed attendees and thanked them for their hours of hard work. She pointed out that the community is lucky to have a local library with a devoted staff and an excellent group of volunteers.
Volunteers provide invaluable support in the day-to-day operations of the library. They assist patrons in many ways including processing books and videos, shelving returned books, and assisting with copying. Volunteers also enable the library to provide special programs such as a weekly story hour for three to five year olds, the summer reading program, delivering books to homebound readers, and reading aloud at both Epworth Manor and Colonial Courtyard.
If anyone is interested in volunteering, contact Lynne Nearhoof, librarian, at 684-1133.
