The Allegheny Mountains Convention and Visitors Bureau recently hosted 18 representatives from the Pennsylvania Tourism and Recreation Development Committee on a visit to Blair County.
This was the first time many of these representatives from across the state visited Blair County, and it provided an opportunity to showcase the area’s tourism assets and send important messages about the needs Blair County has to further develop the vital travel and tourism industry.
The committee members arrived in Altoona last Monday evening for dinner at Marzoni’s. On Tuesday, Visitors Bureau staff members gave the committee members a full tour of Blair County including stops at the Blair County Convention Center, DelGrosso’s Amusement Park, Gardner’s Candies, Tyrone’s Heritage Rail Park, Mishler Theatre, Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art, Blair County Ballpark and Historic Hollidaysburg. The evening was capped off with dinner at the Allegro Restaurant.
