Joseph T. Smith, 87, of Epworth Manor, formerly of Warriors Mark died February 17, 2005 at the Manor.
He was born in Warriors Mark on March 24, 1917, a son of George A. and Jessie (Stiver) Smith.
In September 1940 he married Jean M. Taylor who died April 16, 1981.
Surviving are one son and two daughters: E. Jane and husband Thomas Scioli of Huntingdon, N.Y., Kim and husband Jeff Campbell of Landisville and William J. and wife Leona of Warriors Mark; five grandchildren: Christina, Tommy, Michael, Jessie and Kaylee; two great-grandchildren: Diana and Jamie and two brothers: George Smith of Pine Grove Mills and Ellsworth Smith of Mt. Jewet.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Mr. Smith was a member of Warriors Mark United Methodist Church. He served in the Army during WWII and was a long-time member of the Cartwright Hunting Club. He worked for Union Carbide Co., retiring in January 1979 following 38 years service. He also worked many years for the Pennsylvania Game Commission as deputy game warden. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors.
Funeral arrangements will be Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Bruce E. Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark with Rev. Peggy Bonsell officiating. Place of burial is Burket Cemetery, Warriors Mark Twp.
