A Tyrone woman has been charged after her young son was found alone at an intersection in Snyder Township.
The incident happened on Nov. 11 between 4 p.m. and about 4:45 p.m.
The woman, 27-year-old Donette Leann Wheland, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after an investigation by authorities. In their report, state police said the two-year old boy was found wandering alone near old route 220 and Cold Springs Road.
A passerby stopped and stayed with the child until state police arrived. Police then conducted a house to house search and located the child’s mother who indicated she was unaware the child was missing. Tyrone police and Blair County Children and Youth Services assisted state police in the case.
