Paul J. Gillam, 80, of West Hanover Township, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2005 at his home.
He was a retired truck driver from Roadway Express and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
He was born August 8, 1924 in Oak Park, Illinois, preceded in death by his parents, Carlton S. and Dorothy Ohm Gillam and a brother James C. Gillam, all of Tyrone.
He was a member of Progress-Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Robert Burns Lodge 464 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Forest 43, Teamsters Union Local 776, the Linglestown American Legion Post 272 and a graduate of the Tyrone High School, class of 1943.
Surviving is his wife, Marjorie Fisher Gillam; one son, Paul J. Gillam, Jr. and his wife Mary T. Gillam of Chester Springs; one daughter, Debra J. Eckley and her husband David M. Eckley of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Kara Gillam, John Gillam and Ryan Eckley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the Progress-Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 3640 Ash Street, Harrisburg. Visitation will be held at 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with military honors at 1 p.m.
Neill Funeral Home, Harrisburg is handling the arrangements.
