Tara Taylor is the recipient of Tyrone Hospital’s Extra Mile Employee Award.
Tyrone Hospital grants the award on a quarterly basis to an employee who demonstrates exceptional performance.
Taylor has been employed at Tyrone Hospital for two years. She assists in a variety of departments including the medical staff office, human resources and quality improvement. She also fills in for the administrative assistant to the CEO as needed.
She has earned a reputation among fellow employees as one who is flexible, adaptable and adept at multitasking.
Taylor is a graduate of Tyrone Area High School where her course of study was agriculture and business.
“The business education has been valuable, especially since I assist in a variety of hospital departments,” said Taylor.
Taylor said she was surprised and pleased to learn she was the Extra Mile Award recipient and said she wondered who nominated her.
“Tyrone Hospital is a very positive work environment. It is family-oriented, and the people who work here are willing to help each other,” she said.
“The Extra Mile Employee Award is special because it is driven by hospital employees,” added Walter S. Van Dyke, Chief Executive Officer at Tyrone Hospital. “It is an honor to recognize employees like Ms. Taylor who have been singled out by their co-workers and recognized for exceptional performance.”
Recipients of the Extra Mile Employee Award receive a commemorative plaque, an extra paid personal holiday and a letter of commendation from the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer.
