The Tyrone area’s annual prayer for Christian unity will take place Sunday, January 30 at 6 p.m. in St. Matthew’s Catholic Church.
The event was originally scheduled for January 23; please make note of the change.
First English Lutheran Pastor and TACM President T.M. Talbot-Moses will co-lead the service with host pastor Father Joseph Orr. The sermon will be preached by United Methodist Pastor Charles Fitzgerald.
Refreshments will follow in the parish’s Harkins Hall.
According to Sister Karen Duddy, persons of every Christian denomination are strongly encouraged to participate in this event in which everyone will celebrate unity amidst diversity and pray, as Jesus did in John 17, “That all may be one.”
She said, the service’s readings, hymns and prayers will focus on Jesus as the foundation on whom all Christianity is founded and on whose life of prayer and ministry all Christians are called to build.
Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians 3:1-23 will serve as the featured scripture.
