The Grace Baptist Church invites the area community to its annual Christmas Eve Candlelight service, which will begin at 7 p.m.
Joyful music from Grace Baptist children, teens and adults will highlight the evening of celebration and worship. Music will be presented by the Grace Sr. Choir and Teen Choir; the Dane Family, “Girl’s of Grace” with singers Sara Dane, Jayne McPhail, Rebecca Mogle and Lauren Snider.
Jim Hummel will present a trumpet medley, and Jimmy Bell, with guitar will accompany Lauren Snider singing “O Holy Night”. Also, vocal solos will be presented by Dave Grazier, Bud Starzeski, and a very gifted sixth-grader, Desirea Yancey.
Pastor Roy Garthwaite will bring the Christmas Eve message entitled, “Prince of Peace”, and the evening will conclude with the lighting of the candles and singing a selection of favorite Christmas carols.
Nursery care with parental paging system will be provided.
Also, The Grace Choir, directed by Ken Sollenberger, will present a repeat performance of the Musical Drama “In the Fullness of Time” on Sunday evening, December 26, in the 6:30 p.m. service of the Grace Baptist Church.
The musical is centered around a dramatic dialogue. It’s Christmas, and a retired missionary grandmother, played by Shirley Beckwith, is passing on her family’s keepsakes to her son’s family, and is reminiscing the “special” meaning behind each gift with her granddaughter played by Kelsi Johnson.
The music is both beautiful and very meaningful, highlighting the true message of Christmas, the birth of Christ the Lord.
The community is invited to share the celebration of Christ’s birth. There will not be a junior church for this concert.
Grace is located on Columbia Avenue, across from East End Pizza in Tyrone. For further information, call the church at 684-5016.
