Trick-or-treat night has finally arrived, bringing excitement to children and along with that, parent concerns.
While trick-or-treat night has always been a popular pastime, it can also be a night of mischief. Many area parents must make a decision about whether or not to allow their children to participate in trick-or-treat night.
There have been steps taken to make this evening safer, such as setting a specified time for visiting houses and making it earlier in the evening. There are also tips for both drivers and trick-or-treaters on Halloween night, such as being extra cautious, wearing bright clothing and carrying a flashlight.
This year, as in previous years, there is an alternative to the traditional trick-or-treat events. The First Assembly of God Church, located on 12th Street and Blair Avenue will hold Light the Night, which is scheduled for tonight, during trick-or-treat hours, from 6-8 p.m.
Light the Night will be held in the church parking lot, behind Burger King. The event is supervised and provides a safe environment for those who attend.
Hot dogs, popcorn, candy and beverages will be served. There will also be puppets, videos, games and prizes throughout the evening. There is something fun for everyone.
This event is free. It’s for kids of all ages as well as moms and dads who want to join in the celebration.
Light the Night provides a fun and safe environment where kids will be entertained and parents can remain worry-free.
