The Tyrone Area School District’s Alumni Association is once again seeking nominations for its Distinguished Alumni Award, and the deadline to submit materials will soon be here.
The award was established in 2002, and the next presentations are due to be made in October during an alumni awards weekend.
According to information posted on the school district’s web site, for a person to be considered for an award, a nomination form must be completed and submitted along with other materials. The form can be downloaded by accessing the proper link on the district’s Internet location at www.tyrone. k12.pa.us.
In addition to the nomination form, the candidate’s resume or vita and three letters of support must be submitted.
A panel of judges which includes one graduate from each decade since 1940 will evaluate each nomination. No more than three winners are chosen during any selection period while the nominations remain active for two selection periods.
The deadline for nominations is August 9. The forms and other materials must be submitted to the Tyrone Area School District’s Superintendent’s Office at 701 Clay Avenue, Tyrone, PA 16686 by that date.
