Tyrone Borough is once again offering a special summer experience for children of the area with the Park Avenue Playground Program.
At the playground, from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday, kids can enjoy arts and crafts, guest speakers and play time.
The program began June 14 and is scheduled to run until August 20. There will be no program on July 5 due to the Fourth of July holiday.
Fun projects such as making sun catchers and planting flowers have been completed by those in attendance during the first two weeks of the program.
Other exciting activities planned for the coming weeks include making picture frames, puppets, sand art and more.
Guest speakers such as Tyrone Police Chief Joe Beachem, Mayor Patricia Stoner and the Altoona Curve’s very own Steamer are scheduled to make appearances as well.
Also, special days are planned throughout the summer such as beach, bubble and water fun days to make the program one to remember.
The director of the program is Bree Gurekovich, and the aide is Apryl Hoover.
A complete schedule of activities is available. For more information, contact the borough office at 684-1330.
