Tyrone will be filled with the sounds of two free concerts this week, including the premiere of the Youth Concert series.
Afternoon Delights continues in the City Hotel Park at noon on Wednesday, June 23, with the bluegrass and country sounds of Schock Hollow Band. Substituting for the Conrad Brothers who were originally scheduled, Schock Hollow Band is comprised of seven area musicians.
Bernie Hand, Paul Shaw, John Cadch, Ken Stevens, Jim Bauser, and Dick Foust are the original band members who will be joined by several other musicians, including Doug Conrad.
The Youth Concert series will begin on Friday evening, June 25, with a performance by Zion\’s Gate, a local Christian Rock band. Organized two years ago, Zion\’s Gate has been featured at many concerts in the area including the Impact Festival in Alexandria.
Band members include Cory Jones, Cody Jones, Ben Gummo, and Andy Brisbin along with varied featured artists. The concert will take place in the M&T lot next to Joybeans Coffee Shop on 10th Street, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
In the event of rain, the concert will move inside Joybeans.
All concerts are free of charge and supported by a grant from the PA Council on the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Tyrone Borough.
