There is good news for drivers 55 years or older who want to save money on their car insurance.
Those individuals are able to reduce their auto insurance by five percent by attending an eight-hour refresher course, which will be valid for the next three years.
The cost is $10, and individuals can attend the class close to where they live.
The classes are scheduled for two consecutive nights and are intended to make participants aware of new laws that will affect them.
The class will also discuss physical changes to their bodies as they age and will offer answers to questions they may have about traffic situations.
To qualify for the insurance discount, both husband and wife need to attend, and participants need to complete both sessions.
The next class is scheduled for June 29-30 at Epworth Manor from 6-10 p.m.
Classes will be held on July 26-27 at Epworth Manor from 9-1 p.m., and also on July 26-27 at the Tyrone-Snyder Public Library from 6-10 p.m.
Classes are filling up quickly, so those interested may contact Melissa Harpster at 686-2650 for Epworth Manor or call the Library at 684-1133.
For information on additional classes, individuals may call Maureen Adams, Blair Senior Services volunteer coordinator at 946-1235 ext. 242 or Jay McKnight, AARP telephone coordinator, at 941-2065.
