The Tyrone Arts Council prides itself in offering exceptional arts programming following a tight fiscal budget.
For that reason the Council has only needed to ask the public for financial support three times in nineteen years.
This year, with seventeen free summer concerts, children\’s theater performances, computer art classes for children, and Gallery exhibits for local artists, the Council is need of some additional assistance. The season\’s programming is covered by grant monies and accounts for 90 percent of the Council’s budget. The other 10 percent is for required insurances and public relations costs.
“Since the Council\’s focus is to spend our grant funds on activities that directly impact the audience, we need to find additional income sources for insurances and office expenses,” said TRAC President Steve Stoner. “We need an additional $1,000 dollars to meet this year\’s costs. I really prefer not to go to the public, but feel it is necessary this year to ensure that we maintain our high level of programming.”
Tax deductible contributions can be made out to the Tyrone Regional Arts Council and mailed to PO Box 194 Tyrone, PA 16686. For additional information contact the Arts Line Office at 684-ART2.
