Tickets are selling fast for the “Fabulous Flashbacks” dance scheduled for this Saturday to benefit the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society. The event takes place at the Bavarian Hall in Altoona beginning at 8 p.m.
“We’re expecting a great turnout,” said CPHS Executive Director Dave Hopkins. “The group has a loyal following and they’re excited about this show. There are only a few days left for folks to pick up tickets…the last time we hosted this group we sold out the show.”
Tickets are $8 and are available at CPHS offices (1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd.), Giant Eagle market (Plank Rd.) all Thompson Pharmacy locations, Chris’ Hallmark (Pleasant Valley Blvd.), The Dream restaurant (Hollidaysburg), Community Furniture (Lakemont) and Tractor Supply (Duncansville).
The Flashbacks have been together for more than 15 years.
They are: John Bowser, drums & vocals; Kenneth Merritts, guitar & vocals, Kathy Tornatore, lead vocals; David Tornatore, bass guitar & vocals, Edd Kissel, keyboard and Donald Trullender, sax, guitar & vocals.
“‘The Flashbacks’ are the essence of true rock n’ roll,” said Hopkins.
“They are the region’s original oldies group and their arrangements of classic oldies rock is amazing. It’s pure nostalgia and never fails to get folks in the dancing mood. And after this brutally long and cold winter we’ll be offering a great relief from ‘cabin fever’ with this dance.”
In addition to the Flashbacks, the event will feature raffle items and a 50/50 drawing.
Organizers say no tickets will be sold at the door and the minimum age to attend is 21.
For more information or tickets, call the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society at 942-2477 or 924-5402.
All the proceeds will go to help the homeless animals at the CPHS shelter.
