The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce holds numerous events over the year, and one of the highlights will be this Thursday as members join together for the annual Chamber dinner at the Tyrone Elks Club.
The dinner is scheduled to begin with a social at 6 p.m. Dinner will follow the social time, and a raffle and door prizes will be available to those in attendance. Proceeds from the raffle will be used to help cover the cost of the evening.
This year, a special performance for the dinner is scheduled by the Tyrone Area Middle School Vocal Attraction. The group will perform many songs, while at the same time preparing for the annual spring concert scheduled for May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Tyrone High School auditorium.
In other Tyrone Chamber of Commerce news, members are preparing for Tyrone Community Night at the Curve, scheduled for Sunday, July 18 at Blair County Ballpark.
If any non-profit organization is looking for a fundraiser, contact Rose Black at the Chamber of Commerce office about selling Altoona Curve baseball tickets for Tyrone Community Night.
There are no ticket minimums to sell, and the price is $6 per ticket. This is a great idea for a fundraiser for any non-profit organization.
The entire evening on July 18 will be focused on the Tyrone area. The game features a 6:05 p.m. start against the Reading Phillies, followed by fireworks after the final out. Area residents who attend the game are also encouraged to wear black and orange to show Tyrone spirit.
Tickets for the game are currently available at the Chamber of Commerce office and from any Tyrone Rotary member or Tyrone Kiwanis member.
For more information on the fundraiser or to purchase tickets, contact the Chamber office at 684-0736.
