With a 3-0 vote, the Blair County Commissioners yesterday hired a familiar face to lead the Blair County Prison as Warden.
Longtime employee and most recently, acting prison warden, Donald Ott was given the nod.
“We’re very comfortable with this selection,” said Chairman Commissioner Barry Wright. “I received an awful lot of calls from members of law enforcement agencies all over Blair County giving Ott total support. We’re confident in his abilities.”
Ott has been acting as prison warden for the past six months, relieving John O’Conner, who decided to get back into the insurance industry.
Ott has more than 20 years of experience at Blair County Prison.
