Geraldine L. Harpster, 84, of Spruce Creek Road, Water Street, died Thursday March 11, 2004 at J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon.
She was born November 30, 1919 in Juniata, a daughter of the late James and Edna (Bittner) Nelson. On March 28, 1942 in Juniata she married James B. Harpster.
Surviving are her husband, a son, James W. and wife Susan of Eden Hill, two grandchildren; James R. and wife Jennifer of New York, Julie M. Anderson and husband Travis of Eden Hill. Two great-grandsons; Hunter and Travis Anderson and a sister-in-law Dorie Nelson of Altoona. She was the last of her immediate family preceded in death by a grandson Justin, two brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Harpster was a member of the Lower Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church where she was active with the youth group. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, gardening, flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday March 15, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Barry Vance officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
