Ora Nina Tracy, a resident of Mount Nittany Residences, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004 at Centre Crest Nursing Home of natural causes.
She was born Ora Bridges in Terrell County, Georgia on August 11, 1923 to Robert L. Bridges and Nina (McCrea) Bridges.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, her husband Gerald B. Tracy and her daughter, Kathleen Tracy.
She is survived by her son, Wade VanLandingham; her step-daughter, Lynn Seely; and three grandchildren, Michele Bryant, Sarah VanLandingham, and David Vanlandingham.
Ora spent most of her life in Miami, Fla. She loved the ocean and the warm weather, but moved to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania in 1987 to be near her son and step-daughter. She moved to State College in the fall of 2003. She was a Methodist, but had no local church affiliation.
She graduated from Miami High in 1940 and in the same year, was named Miss Miami and married her first husband, Harry W. VanLandingham (also deceased). For most of her adult life, she was a secretary and administrative assistant for a number of firms in the Miami area. Her primary interest throughout her life was her family.
No funeral services will be held at this time. A memorial service will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.
