The Tyrone Community Partnership has scheduled its second annual St. Patrick’s Celebration on Thursday, March 18 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Tyrone Social Hall, located at 120 W. 10th Street, Tyrone.
Organizers are planning for an evening of good food, good music and good fellowship.
The menu includes: Irish stew, homemade Limerick bread, Leprechaun cupcakes with Blarney ice cream, Irish coffee and lucky punch.
A highlight of the evening will be authentic Irish music provided by the Michael O’Brien Duo. The music starts at 5:30 p.m. and will continue until 7:30 p.m.
This dinner is another in a series of events sponsored by the Tyrone Community Partnership. In the past, the Partnership has sponsored the popular soup-tasting contest during the Christmas holiday season for the past several years, a Trio of Pasta dinner in November and a Valentine’s Dinner last month.
According to Tyrone Community Partnership president Ray Liddick, over 140 people attended the Valentine’s Dinner.
“As with events in the past, we received several warm comments on how much it was enjoyed,” said Liddick of the Valentine’s Dinner.
For the upcoming spring and summer months, individuals and organizations are already expressing interest in holding various events at the social hall.
“We have received a number of phone calls and have the hall booked for a number of events for the upcoming months,” said Liddick. “Our summer month weekends are beginning to fill up with various events. Currently, we have several wedding receptions scheduled, a class reunion party, and auctions.
“In addition, the Kiwanis Club has the facility booked for two pancake breakfasts as well as a teen dance. All in all, we have been pleased with the number of calls and inquiries we have received and booked.”
Tickets for the St. Patrick’s Celebration are available at the Tyrone Chamber of Commerce, Joybeans Coffee Shop, Patrice’s Boutique, Open Door Visions, Alice’s Garden and from members of the Tyrone Community Partnership.
Advance tickets are $7 for adults, $3.50 for children, and children under three years of age are admitted free. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the event. Those prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children.
