Officials at Joshua House have scheduled a work day for this Saturday, and anyone interested in volunteering is welcome to attend.
The work day is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
This will be the final Saturday work session in a series of three, and Joshua House Director, Jim Kilmartin, said the work is over half-way completed.
“The great news is that this second half is going to be the fun half,” said Kilmartin, “the half where we stop cutting up black top and start seeing it all come together.”
The projects to be finished include: flower box and fence, fill flower box with dirt, patio, move dirt into flower boxes, remove rock and debris from inside the boxed-in area, spread topsoil, plant grass seed, put up the last basketball hoop, finish the far fence, stain fence and flower beds, plant and mulch flower beds (Joshua House Juniors is helping with this), build gate off of patio, install dishwasher, hang the sign, paint side of building, organize and clean kitchen, organize shed and seal concrete.
Joshua House is located at 123 Tenth Street, Tyrone. For more information, contact 684-2032.
Joshua House has plenty of events planned for the upcoming months. Just as a reminder, tomorrow, Joshua House Juniors will be sponsoring a Family Fun Night for children in Kindergarten through 5th grades and their families.
“Are you smarter than your elementary grader” will be the theme for this event.
Parents and older siblings will compete with the younger elementary aged children in a Jeopardy-style game.
