The Blair County Chapter of PA CleanWays is scheduled to host a winter 2004 electronics, cell phone, computer and appliance recycling event on Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Reclamere, Inc. in Tyrone.
The items that will be accepted to be recycled include cell phones, VCRs, TVs and appliances of all kinds.
According to PA CleanWays of Blair County Executive Director, Dana L. Shoemaker, there will be small fees associated with the recycling of some of the electronics and appliances.
She also stated that the organization is working with Reclamere and Appliance Outlet to get the fees to a reasonable point. Plus, the Blair County Chapter of PA CleanWays will earn some money from the event.
Cell phones are one item that is important to PA CleanWays because the organization can earn from these without charging a fee.
Shoemaker urges individuals who have a cell phone that do not know how to dispose of it to contact PA CleanWays, so the organization can help with the proper disposal of the cell phone.
Also, if anyone would like to volunteer at the event to be held at Reclamere on January 17 or if anyone is considering brining items to be recycled, contact Shoemaker at PA CleanWays of Blair County, P.O. Box 272, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648; phone 946-0484 or visit the web site at blairclwy@keyconn.net
