Byron A. “Barney” Kirkum, 76, of RD 3 Box 383 Sinking Valley, was identified as the driver killed Saturday afternoon as the result of an automobile accident on Kettle Road in Tyrone Township.
Hollidaysburg state police reported that Kirkum’s 1987 Chevrolet truck was traveling north on the icy roadway when it slid and went onto an embankment. The truck rolled over and came to rest on its roof on the road.
Kirkum was wearing a seat belt and found in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Blair County Assistant Coroner Jeff Guyer.
