The Thomas Family is from Maysville, Oklahoma, and they are in their 29th year of “full-time” ministry with 18 of those years spent in pastoral work in Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
For the past 11 years they have been in the Southern Gospel Music and Evangelistic field as they share their song and ministry through Gospel Concerts all across the country.
The Thomas Family members are Rod, an ordained minister, and his wife Barb. Over the years they have produced 16 recordings with their newest “A Whosoever Is What I Am” being their second duet recording. Their CDs and cassettes are available at their concerts. They sing the old standards as well as the newer Southern Gospel songs.
They have also written some of their own songs as well, with their latest titled “A Whosoever Is What I Am” coming from the pen of Rod.
Rod has also written such songs as “When All Is Said and Done,” “The Dash Between the Dates,” “Let Me Be that Light,” “Get Right Or Get Left” and “The Offer Still Stands” to name a few.
The Thomas Family’s goal is “to be a blessing and not just a blasting” as they share their music and ministry. Their family ministry theme is “I Am A Whosoever” taken from John 3:16, and their purpose of ministry is “to be an inspirational help to the local communities and the local church and its ongoing mission.” Their web site is located at www.ThomasFamilyMinistries.com
The Thomas Family is scheduled to share their ministry in song at the Tyrone Church of the Brethren located at 500 W. 18th Street in Tyrone at 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 28 through October 1.
Pastor Irvin Huston and the congregation extend a warm welcome for the community to attend. For more information or directions call 684-4940.
